About

Brett Flashnick

I’m a professional photographer and visual storyteller with more than seventeen years of experience working with businesses, both large and small as well as publications from around the world. I grew up in Columbia, South Carolina where I split my childhood between my parent’s photo studio/lab and running around the woods of my grandparent’s 40-acre farm. It was this time that founded my love of photography, the outdoors, and the Carolina sunshine.

After several years of living the life of a nomad while attending the photojournalism program at Western Kentucky University and participating in summer internships around the country I found my way back home to the Midlands of South Carolina. Once again I found myself in the Carolina sunshine surrounded by the people and places I loved, as I embarked on a successful career as a freelance photojournalist. Over the next decade-and-a-half I was fortunate enough to have a client roster that included some of the largest news organizations in the world which included:  USA Today, The Associated Press, Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.

Today, I create photos and tell stories based on active outdoor lifestyles for clients in the travel, tourism, outdoor, hunting, fishing and shooting industries. I call Lake Murray in Lexington County, SC home along with my wife McKenzie, and our rescue dog boomer. No matter how far I travel, or what adventures I may encounter along the way it is great to return home to somewhere familiar where I can enjoy enjoy my own outdoor adventures all year long.

If you would like to keep up with with my adventures, please follow me through one or all of the social media channels listed below.
